Afterschool Creative Writing and Reading Program

About Instructor, Lori Sugarman
Author, Teacher, Songwriter Lori Sugarman has taught creative writing to students of all ages for the past 15 years. She welcomes those who love to write and those who would rather stand on nails for 3 hours than write! The goal is to improve writing attitudes, taking away the “I hate to write” attitude. Through creative and imaginative approaches to words, ideas, idioms, introductions, opinions, vocabulary, details, and story writing, students leave their negative experiences in the past and move forward to discover the joy of writing and language. For those who enjoy writing, this program provides a weekly opportunity to let the imagination have a field day. The more students write, the better writers they become and the more reward they garnish from their own writing.

For students who would rather do ANYTHING but write and for those who enjoy writing, the Plumdiggity Creative Writing Program:

• Strengthens sentence and overall composition skills
• Exercises opinion, informative, narrative and persuasive writing
• Creates interest in idioms, metaphors and vocabulary
• Develops a more positive writing attitude
• Provides opportunity for imaginitive writing and poetry

Treat your students to our on-site in-classroom writing workshops.
We spend 45 minutes per class starting at 8:00 am until the day’s end targeting preferred grades and classrooms. Schedule us for 1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks or 4 weeks. After school teacher training also available.

Gather 3-4 friends (or cousins!) and join our small group on-line (zoom) creative writing classes. Maximum 5 students per group.
